Parent involvement
The school welcomes the support and interaction of parents within the school environment. Students also love to have their parents involved in their life at school.
Parents must have a Working With Children Check to work in the school and can be provided with advice on how to access this.
Classroom Helpers
We know that there are many people keen to support in the school, and staff value this support. We always settle the children in during Term One and then appreciate having the additional support in the school from Term 2 onwards.
This is a lovely way to connect with the school while offering support.was
Volunteers are required to complete the required Child Safe induction program and have a current Working with Children Check.
There are many ways volunteers can support: For example:
- Listening to children read
- Supporting children in small group activities
- Assisting with the kitchen and garden program
- General school grounds – sweeping, tidying.
- Helping the Landcare group
- Watering the children’s Landcare Garden
- Assisting with sporting events
- When required, supporting on school excursions etc.
- Assisting in special activities planned by the teachers.
And many more........
Gardening / Grounds Help
We need many had on deck to keep our large school grounds well maintained and support is welcomed. The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program also requires parent support in the Kitchen Garden.
Help from Home
There are many things that can be done to support teachers form home such as covering of books, finding items of interest etc. Even when you are at work or home you can stay connected.
